Investigation underway against 9th May culprits: Interior Minister

ISLAMABAD:Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that investigation is underway to probe 9th May incident to bring culprits before the law. Addressing a news conference here in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said the joint investigation team (JIT) has received audio and video proofs of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) culprits involved in vandalism of national institutions and army installations. He said the culprits involved in the attacks on army installations will be punished through army courts. He categorically stated that no innocent will be punished, however, those involved in the attacks on national institutions will be dealt with iron hands.

The Minister said Israel and other enemies of Pakistan supported and funded PTI to create chaos in the country, but our agencies took pre-emptive measures and foiled their nefarious designs. He said PTI Chief wanted to raise one million tiger force to attack the country. He said this tiger force was supported with billions of rupees in the shape of loans and foreign funding to attack national institutions and create social media hype against Army Chief and the institutions.

Rana Sanaullah said PTI Chief leveled baseless allegations against Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Army Chief that they want to kill him. Imran Khan was asked to produce proofs, but he failed to present any evidence, he added. The Minister said Imran Khan is a ‘cancer’ for Pakistan. He said they hatched conspiracy on 9th May as there were no political protests, but attacks on Pakistan’s national institutions and military installations. To a query regarding next general elections, the Interior Minister said that there could be seat adjustment with any political party to get the country out of economic crisis. He said PML-N is not making any alliance with any party in next election.
