Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, on Monday visited the Central Imambargah Asna Ashari in Sector G-6 to review security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
During the visit, Minister Naqvi inspected the security setup and other logistical arrangements in place to ensure the safety of mourners. He also met with the imambargah’s administration to discuss the ongoing preparations. The organizers expressed satisfaction with the security and support arrangements.
Speaking to the media, Mohsin Naqvi stated that a comprehensive security plan has been devised for Muharram. He emphasized that strict surveillance measures are being enforced and that suspicious elements are being closely monitored.
“The security is on high alert to foil any nefarious plans of cowardly enemies,” the minister remarked. He further informed that, upon his request, the deployment of military troops has been approved in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and all provinces to assist civil administrations in maintaining law and order.
The Interior Minister was briefed on the security arrangements by the DIG Islamabad Police. Federal Secretary for Interior Khurram Agha and SSP Shoaib Kahn were also present during the visit.
