A high-level meeting was held here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, where significant decisions were made regarding individuals deported from foreign countries.
The meeting decided that FIRs (First Information Reports) will be registered against deported individuals. Additionally, their passports will be cancelled and their names will be placed on the Passport Control List for five years.
In line with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s directives, a committee headed by the Interior Secretary has been formed to further tighten and improve passport regulations.
‘Deported individuals are becoming a source of international embarrassment for Pakistan,’ said Mohsin Naqvi, adding that no leniency will be shown to them in the future.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Interior Secretary, the Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Director General Passport.
