India Releases 5 Lakh Cusecs Water on Short Notice, Inshallah We Will Control: PML-N

The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) stated that Pakistani authorities are on high alert in view of the potential flood threat despite the release of a large amount of water on short notice by India, along with unusually long monsoon rains. The current monsoon period has extended to three months, completely saturating the ground and increasing the risk of widespread flooding. Adding to the concerns, India released 5 lakh cusecs of water into the river with less than two hours’ warning.

Despite the challenging circumstances, authorities are expressing confidence in their preparedness to handle the evolving situation. Emergency response teams are active and closely monitoring river levels. Contingency plans are in place to mitigate the impact of potential flooding and protect communities in at-risk areas. The Meteorological Department is monitoring the weather situation and providing updates. Although the situation remains uncertain, authorities believe they are fully prepared to address the potential challenges arising from the prolonged rains and the large-scale release of water from across the border.
