ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday ordered immediate release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Secretary General Asad Umar. The court declared his arrest under Section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) null and void and directed him to submit an undertaking for not becoming a part of violent protests in future.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the IHC asked Asad Umar to ‘forget’ his political career in case he deviates from the undertaking. The court also directed him to delete two tweets. Asad Umar was arrested from the premises of Islamabad High Court on May 10 under Section 3 of MPO following the May 9 violent attacks on public as well as armed forces’ installations.
