Pakistan’s First Lady, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, on the occasion of World Population Day 2025, made a strong appeal for the renewal of the national commitment to the health, dignity, and autonomy of all citizens, especially women, children, and the younger generation.

Zardari, emphasizing the human element behind population statistics, highlighted the importance of ensuring the health of every mother, the safety of every child, and the well-being of every family. She acknowledged the significant obstacles in Pakistan regarding maternal health, child welfare, and youth empowerment, presenting them not merely as developmental issues, but as matters of dignity, equality, and justice. She stated that prioritizing the well-being of the population secures the nation’s future.

The First Lady emphasized creating opportunities for young people where they can live with dignity, free from prejudice, and capable of making informed decisions. She referred to youth not just as the future, but as the present, stressing their need for quality education, comprehensive healthcare, economic opportunities, and a voice in decisions impacting their lives.
