Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has harshly criticized Hafiz Naeem, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, for repeatedly leveling accusations against the Sindh government in relation to the budget. Memon dismissed these accusations as routine political point scoring, which overlooks the developmental efforts made by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the region.
Memon rejected Naeem’s claims, stating that the opposition’s accusations reflect a strategy of “shadowboxing,” which mostly considers Naeem’s own political insignificance rather than the government’s performance. He emphasized that these allegations are baseless and do not reflect the ground realities.
The Senior Minister highlighted the PPP’s courageous improvements in Sindh’s education and health sectors. “The measures taken by our government for the betterment of education and health are unprecedented in history,” Memon stated. He detailed the significant impacts of these efforts, including the restoration of schools, recruitment of teachers, and the implementation of various educational programs, which he considered proof of the government’s commitment to public service.
Furthermore, Memon criticized the federal government for the delayed disbursement of funds due to Sindh, which he deemed crucial for educational reforms. He suggested that if Naeem were truly sincere about the state of education in Sindh, his criticisms would be better directed towards these federal delays.
In his concluding remarks, Memon called for a shift from destructive politics to constructive and positive thinking that benefits the people of Sindh. He advised Hafiz Naeem to focus on promoting a more beneficial political environment instead of engaging in constant criticism.
