Gulbar Khan elected as GB CM

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) forward bloc leader Gul Bar Khan was elected as Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) new Chief Minister on Thursday.

He secured nineteen out of twenty votes. The other three candidates Raja Azam Khan, Javed Ali Manwa and Raja Muhammad Zakria Maqpoon boycotted the election.

After his election, Chief Minister Gulbar Khan expressed his commitment to work for peace and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan. He thanked all the members who voted for him.

A few days ago, GB’s top court had disqualified Chief Minister Khalid Khursheed for holding a fake degree. The newly-elected Chief Minister hails from Diamer district of the GB.
