Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Faisal Karim Kundi met with Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani at the Parliament House on Friday to discuss the province’s challenges. The leaders addressed a wide array of topics, including the political, economic, and social landscape of the country, along with the difficulties faced by KP residents and potential remedies. Gilani highlighted KP’s significant role in Pakistan, citing its strategic location, historical importance, and the sacrifices of its citizens for national security and advancement. He lauded the province’s inhabitants for their contributions to peace and stability.
Kundi briefed Gilani on KP’s developmental needs, pressing issues, and the specific concerns of the merged districts of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He outlined ongoing efforts to collaborate with tribal leaders and implement programs for sustainable development and economic growth. Gilani reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to KP’s well-being and pledged continued support. Newly elected Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood also attended the meeting. Both Kundi and Mahmood offered condolences on the passing of Gilani’s cousin and former federal minister, Syed Tanveer-ul-Hassan Gilani, praising his social and political contributions.
