Police have arrested four suspected robbers in injured condition following two separate alleged encounters in district West and South in the wee hours on Saturday.
The police said that in the precinct of Pakistan Bazaar police station, the police tried to stop suspects instead the suspects attempted to escape firing at the police. The police retaliated which ensued a shootout with armed suspects, resulting in the arrest of two in injured condition.
According to SSP West Tariq Ilahi Mastoi, after an exchange of gunfire from both sides, the two suspects riding a motorcycle were arrested while injured. The suspects have been identified as Muhammad Arsalan, son of Khalid Khan, and Kashan Hussain Turk, son of Liaqat Hussain.
Two pistols with ammunition, spent shells, snatched mobile phones, and cash were recovered from the arrested suspects. The motorcycle used by the suspects has also been seized, and its details are being obtained.
The injured suspects were immediately transferred to the hospital for medical assistance. Legal proceedings are underway, and the suspects’ previous criminal records are also being obtained, the spokesperson for SSP District West further stated.
Meanwhile, South District Police, they arrested two suspects in injured condition after an exchange of alleged gunfire in the Defense area.
According to the police, these suspects were involved in a murder of a citizen during Eid. Weapons and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from them, police added.
After receiving medical aid, the injured suspects have been handed over to the investigation department for further inquiry.
