Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound sorrow over the destruction caused by cloudbursts and flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Pakistan. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he offered condolences to the grieving families and affirmed national solidarity during this difficult period.
The Prime Minister stated that the administration is deploying all available assets for rescue and relief efforts. Following a meeting with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman, Sharif ordered expedited rescue work in nine affected districts, including Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Torghar, Mansehra, Shangla, and Battagram. Bajaur and Battagram were identified as requiring immediate attention.
The government is providing urgent assistance to trapped inhabitants, medical care to the wounded, and utilizing heavy equipment to clear roads and re-establish access.
