Field Marshal Rejects Presidential Ambitions, Says Interior Minister

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday firmly dismissed conjectures about the Field Marshal vying for the presidency. He asserted there’s no such plan or dialogue occurring.

In an official declaration, Naqvi stated, ‘We know the individuals orchestrating the harmful campaign against President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the Chief of Army Staff. There’s been no conversation or aspiration from the Field Marshal to pursue the presidency or for President Zardari to step down.’

Naqvi highlighted the President’s respectful and robust working rapport with the military leadership. ‘I know precisely who is disseminating these falsehoods, their motives, and who gains from such disinformation,’ he commented.

He added that the Chief of Army Staff is entirely dedicated to Pakistan’s strength and security, dismissing the account promoted by certain actors. ‘To those propagating this narrative-whether connected to foreign rivals or operating independently-my message is simple: pursue your agenda, but we will prioritize Pakistan’s reconstruction and reinforcement.’

Minister Naqvi concluded by reiterating the administration’s resolve to combat any disinformation and maintain national unity and stability.
