KARACHI: Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on May 2 as this year’s Ramazan will last for 30 days.

According to the details, the founder and head of the Saudi Arabia’s Meteorological Committee, Dr Abdullah Al-Musnad, said in a statement on Twitter: “When will Eid ul Fitr take place this year? This is the question that is often asked by many people to plan their vacations, celebrations and reservation in advance.”

Answering his own question, he said: “This year, the month of Ramazan will last for 30 days. Praise be to Allah. And Eid ul Fitr will be on Monday, May 2. Only God knows best.” He also shared the details on Twitter, adding: “The moon of Shawwal will be born on the night of April 30. May 1 will be the 30th day of Ramazan. And Monday, May 2, according to astronomical calculations, will be Eid ul Fitr.”
