KARACHI: Syed Foundation held an Eid Millan party in honour of special children at Dar-ul-Sukoun with a view to make them part of the Eid celebrations and make the atmosphere full of happiness and joy for them on Eid.

New Port Institute Chairperson Huma Bukhari, Syed Foundation President Syed Wasimuddin Hashmi, KSF Senior VP Tehmina Asif, CEO Dar-ul-Sukoun Savio Pereira and Bonny Bornshin, Manager Corporate and Donor Relations Dar-ul-Sukoun and a large number of mentally and physically challenged children attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Huma Bukhari said that the work done by Dar-ul-Sukoun for special children is exemplary as this is the foremost organization working with utmost dedication and selflessly at national level in the country for special children and we must follow their example.

“They are not only providing routine care to these mentally and physically challenged children but also caters to their other needs like holding various activities for them to provide them entertainment to feel themselves part of society.

She was all praise for Syed Foundation and said that the entire team of the foundation needs admiration for holding such a grand party at Darul Sukun on such a special occasion where she said she feels happy to be present with these children who are abandoned by their families.

Syed Foundation President Syed Wasimuddin Hashmi said that the Foundation will enhance the scope of work with such organizations to bring relief to the special persons who are the responsibility of the society.

He paid tributes to Dar-ul-Sukun for their selfless work for special persons and said that his organisaton feels proud to be at Darul Sukun with these children. KSF Senior Vice President Tehmina Asif KSF said that special children are differently-gifted and differently-abled which is evident from their successful participation in various walks of life, particularly education and sports.

She cited the example of Paralytics where our special athletes have excelled in various disciplines of sports, winning many laurels and medals including gold medals for the country at international level and making the entire nation proud.

She said in view of their talent, the KSF wants to establish a Sports Corner at Dar-ul-Sukun for these differently-abled children to make them unearth their talent and shine in to gems to make part of various sports and win laurels for the country.

Later, the guests mingled with the special children; conducted a photo-shoot with them and distributed various gifts to them to make them feel good on Eid. On the occasion, music was played and children performed which made the atmosphere filled with joy.
