Dua kept at Karachi’s Child Protection Bureau amid foolproof security

KARACHI: Dua Zehra was shifted to Karachi’s Child Protection Bureau on Sunday by Sindh police following the Lahore court’s decision. The Child Protection Bureau has confirmed his arrival and said that she was being kept in foolproof security.

A Lahore court on Saturday ordered shifting of Dua back to Karachi. She was earlier sent to a shelter home in Lahore. Judicial Magistrate Rizwan Ahmed had issued an order for shifting Dua to Karachi and said that the teenager then be presented before the judicial magistrate in Karachi’s District West.

He also ordered that Dua Zahra be provided with security and no one should be allowed to meet her before she appears in the court. On April 16, Dua’s parents filed a first information report alleging that their daughter had been kidnapped from Karachi. On April 26, she was recovered from Okara. Later, she told SHC in Karachi that she had not been kidnapped but had left her home on her own and married Punjab’s Zaheer Ahmed of free will.

She also stated that she was 18 years old, but later medical board mentioned his age between 15 and 16 years, near 15 years that turned the case in the favor of parents who claimed that their girl was underage and was kidnapped from Karachi. The cellular data has showed that Zaheer was present in Karachi on the day Dua went missing.
