Discussion on ML-1 and ML-3 Railway Projects in a Meeting Chaired by the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting focused on the ambitious expansion and improvement of Pakistan Railways, now aiming to extend its reach to Reko Diq, a region rich in minerals.

During the high-level meeting, officials particularly presented a comprehensive outline of the development projects for the ML-1 and ML-3 lines. These improvements are strategically planned to meet the increasing demand for cargo and passenger transport in the near future.

Pakistan Railways has been highlighted as the “backbone of the national economy and transportation,” known for its cost-effectiveness, rapid transit capacity, and minimal environmental pollution. The extension to Reko Diq is considered not only a crucial step in enhancing logistical infrastructure but also in facilitating economic growth through improved access to a major mining hub of the country.

This initiative is part of a broader vision to strengthen infrastructure and promote economic development through enhanced connectivity. As the rail network expands, it is expected to significantly benefit various sectors by providing smoother and more efficient transportation of goods and people.
