National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq lauded China for its unwavering solidarity with Pakistan in the face of India’s recent aggression, highlighting Beijing’s firm stance on international forums. The commendation came as the Speaker, on behalf of Pakistan’s Parliament and citizens, extended heartfelt felicitations to China on its upcoming 76th National Day.
In a message on Tuesday, the Speaker conveyed warm wishes to President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, Chairman Zhao Leji, and the Chinese nation for their national day, celebrated annually on October 1st.
Paying rich tribute to the visionary leadership of Chairman Mao Zedong, the Speaker noted that he laid the foundation for China to emerge as a major global power and presented a revolutionary model for the developing world. He added that the phenomenal achievements of modern China continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration for the international community.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored that the unparalleled bond between the two nations is built on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests, having withstood the test of time. He emphasized that China has consistently raised its voice against injustice, aggression, and all forms of terrorism.
Commending the launch of CPEC 2.0, the Speaker highlighted the initiation of five new corridor projects focusing on agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence, minerals, and industrial relocation. He said these initiatives are poised to accelerate Pakistan’s industrial and economic growth and enhance people-to-people linkages.
The Speaker also appreciated recent economic milestones, including the signing of joint ventures and agreements worth USD 8.5 billion during a business investment conference in Beijing. He termed these agreements, which cover sectors like agriculture, technology, and infrastructure, a significant step in Pakistan’s economic progress.
Referring to the 2024-2029 Joint Action Plan, he underlined its significance as a comprehensive roadmap for strengthening bilateral cooperation. Ongoing collaboration in defense and technology was also praised, with the Speaker stressing that such cooperation would reinforce peace, stability, and defense capabilities in the region.
Further trade and investment initiatives were acknowledged, including a recent Lahore expo that saw participation from 200 Chinese firms and resulted in numerous agreements. MoUs signed during the President of Pakistan’s recent visit to China were also described as a positive step towards regional prosperity.
Reaffirming the depth of the bilateral bond, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq remarked, ‘The friendship between Pakistan and China is higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the oceans, and sweeter than honey.’ He expressed confidence that this unique and time-tested friendship would continue to grow stronger.
