A two-day Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI) Forum begins in Islamabad on Tuesday, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif set to attend the opening session as the chief guest. The forum aims to highlight the nation’s potential in the startup and IT sectors.

Minister for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima, informed foreign media on Monday about the forum’s objectives. She noted the IT sector’s growth, with export increases ranging from twenty-four to twenty-seven percent, and projected IT exports to reach four billion dollars this fiscal year.

Shaza Fatima outlined the ambitious goal of achieving a twenty-five billion dollar economic impact from the IT sector within the next four years. She stressed the shift towards a cashless economy, emphasizing the role of digital payments in enhancing transparency and efficiency.

The forum serves as a platform to attract foreign investors by showcasing the country’s burgeoning IT industry and its potential for substantial economic contributions.
