Deputy Chairman Senate, Syedal Khan, has strongly condemned the suicide attack on the Balochistan National Party (BNP) rally in Quetta that claimed several lives and left many injured. He termed the incident a brutal act of terrorism and a failed attempt to undermine national and political unity.

In his statement on Wednesday, Syedal Khan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of BNP workers and innocent citizens, calling it a ‘national tragedy.’ He offered condolences to the bereaved families, prayed for the departed souls, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

The Deputy Chairman specifically condemned the targeting of BNP President and former Chief Minister Balochistan, Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s convoy, assuring him of complete solidarity. ‘The entire Upper House of Parliament stands shoulder to shoulder with Sardar Akhtar Mengal and his colleagues in this difficult time,’ he said.

Khan urged authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation to bring the perpetrators and their facilitators to justice. He emphasized that strict accountability was essential to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Highlighting the importance of unity, Syedal Khan said: ‘Terrorist elements will never succeed in destabilizing Pakistan. At this critical juncture, the nation must rise above political differences and demonstrate solidarity for the peace, security, and stability of the country.’

The Deputy Chairman reaffirmed that the government and state institutions remain resolute in their mission to eliminate terrorism. He also directed the Balochistan government to provide the best medical treatment to the injured and extend financial assistance to the victims’ families.

‘Parliament and the people are united like a wall against terrorism. These anti-state elements will achieve nothing but failure,’ Syedal Khan concluded.
