Court seeks IGP, Immigration DG reply on plea for removal of Mazari’s name from ECL

ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday sought reply from the inspector general of Islamabad police (IGP) and Immigration director-general (DG) on the plea to remove the name of former federal minister Shireen Mazari from the exit control list (ECL). Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri asked Ms Mazari’s lawyer Barrister Ahsan Jamal Pirzada whether the application was amended. Barrister Pirzada replied in the affirmative and added that additional documents have also been attached to the application.

He regretted the way laws were being passed these days. It seemed that our bail requests would also come to you, he added. Justice Jahangiri smilingly remarked that ours might come too. Later, the court issued a notice to IGP and the DG Immigration directing them to file reply by August 10.
