KARACHI: Oil Tanker Contractors Association on Sunday opposed the government’s proposed deregulation of Petroleum Products’ Prices (PPP).

In a statement, President Oil Tanker Contractors Association Abidullah Afridi said that if the decision was not changed, they would go on strike and stop the delivery of oil across the country.

General Secretary Tanker Contractors Association Shoaib Ashraf said that he had also written a letter to the Ministry of Petroleum to discuss this issue, but no contact had yet been made on their behalf. Deregulation of prices for petroleum products would destroy the oil tankers sector, he added.
