In Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders Farida Behanji and Yasmeen Raja have expressed serious concern over the condition of freedom leaders who are illegally detained in Indian and regional prisons.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in separate statements, the Hurriyat leaders have appealed to the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to pressure India to release the detained Kashmiris and to play a role in resolving the Kashmir issue according to UN Security Council resolutions.

They stated that India has imprisoned thousands of innocent Kashmiris under false charges. The leaders lamented that India has turned the entire occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a military garrison and that its forces are committing severe atrocities against innocent Kashmiris.
