ISLAMABAD: The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) and the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) have entered into a strategic partnership to improve transparency, competition, and integrity in public procurement processes. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to solidify this collaboration, marking a significant step towards modernizing procurement practices in Pakistan.According to Radio Pakistan, the MoU was formalized at a ceremony in Islamabad, where Managing Director of PPRA Hasnat Ahmad Qureshi and Chairman CCP Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu signed the agreement. The partnership aims to foster greater cooperation between the two bodies, ensuring that public procurement is conducted in a fair and transparent manner.A central aspect of this initiative is the PPRA's transition from manual procurement processes to an electronic system. The e-Pak Acquisition and Disposal System platform is a key component of this transformation, designed to streamline procurement activities and reduce opp ortunities for corruption and inefficiency. The collaboration with CCP is expected to further reinforce these efforts by ensuring compliance with competitive practices.This agreement is part of a broader strategy to improve governance and accountability within Pakistan's public sector, aligning with international standards and best practices.
