ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Gulbar Khan called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed with him the matters related to health, education, energy projects and tourism sector.

According to a report on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was briefed about the progress of the ongoing work on two Hydropower Projects in Attaabad and Harpo by the Federal Government in Gilgit-Baltistan. The meeting was apprised that with the completion of these projects, uninterrupted supply of electricity will be ensured in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Prime Minister was apprised that the construction of Naltar Expressway has been completed which will play a key role in the development and prosperity of the region. During the meeting, the prime minister directed to prepare and submit an action plan regarding the development of tourism and solar energy projects in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also directed the establishment of Danish Schools System in all three divisions of Gilgit-Baltistan. Prime Minister also formed a committee to solve the problems faced by Gilgit-Baltistan.

Prime Minister directed that the committee should submit its recommendations after consultation on all the issues facing Gilgit-Baltistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister said Danish Schools are being established in Gilgit-Baltistan for children and girls belonging to poor families. He said Danish Schools will provide international quality education to the children as well as accommodation facilities.

Prime Minister said the welfare of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, provision of health and education facilities to them is the first priority of the Government.

While referring to tourism sector, Prime Minister said the recommendations should be compiled and presented to take full advantage of the wide potential of tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Talking about energy projects, Prime Minister said the work on the completion of Attabad and Harpo Hydropower Projects should be accelerated in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Prime Minister said an action plan should be prepared and presented regarding solar energy projects in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Minister Of Law And Justice Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister Of Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and relevant senior officials were present in the meeting.
