KARACHI: Administrator Karachi, Sindh government’s Spokesman and CM Advisor on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab, on Sunday said that Kakri Ground will be a gift to the people of Lyari.
“The ground is being converted into a full-fledged sports complex and development work is in full swing, with sports activities expected to begin by the end of October,” the administrator said this while visiting Kakri Ground Lyari here
PPP Karachi Division Deputy Secretary Information Shakeel Chaudhry, PPP District South President Khalil Hoot, Project Director Nazir Memon and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Wahab said that they had worked hard to restore the city’s lights and had got considerable success. “We have also carried out development work in areas where PPP-affiliated public representatives have not been elected,” the administrator added. He said that the foundation stone of Kakri Ground was laid in February.
The administrator Karachi said that Lyari and PPP are inseparable, as the hearts of the people of Lyari beat with PPP. “The Sindh government will provide all facilities to the people of Lyari. Development projects are under construction in other areas of Karachi without any discrimination. Playgrounds, parks and open spaces are being restored in the city,” he added.
Earlier, the road in front of Kakri Ground was restored and now construction work is underway at Kakri Ground. He said that in the sport complex, football ground, squash court, table tennis, boxing facilities, indoor facilities would be provided so that the youth of Lyari could be provided the sports related facilities in their own area.
He said that the youth of Lyari were talented and had a prominent place in the world of sports. “Lyari had produced world class athletes in football, boxing, cycling and various sports who have made Pakistan famous all over the world,” the administrator said.
He said that the condition of parks in Old City area were also being improved and internal roads were being rebuilt. Project Director Nazir Memon briefed the administrator Karachi on the details of development works with the help of maps and charts.
