Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza spearheaded significant discussions during his official visit to Qatar for the second round of the Higher Military Cooperation Committee (HMCC) meeting. In a high-profile engagement, he met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, as well as Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, Lt General (Pilot) Jassim Mohammad Ahmed Al-Mannal.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement on Thursday indicating that the talks concentrated on the evolving regional security landscape. Both parties reiterated their mutual dedication to fostering peace and stability on both regional and global fronts. General Mirza emphasized the enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar and discussed potential future collaborations in defense and security under the HMCC framework.

The Qatari civil and military brass acknowledged Pakistan’s crucial contribution to regional stability. They expressed admiration for the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in combating terrorism.

Upon his arrival at the Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza received a Guard of Honour from a well-turned-out contingent, marking the importance of the visit.
