The Canada Film Fest 2025 captivated audiences today with a lineup of thought-provoking films at the Alhamra Arts Council. This year”s festival spotlights two impactful short films by SOC Films, funded by Canada’s Fund for Local Initiatives, focusing on the theme of fundamental freedoms.

These films promised a rich exploration of pressing global issues. Earlier in the day, attendees experienced “Metamorphosis”, a documentary that delves into the environmental crisis and the innovative solutions arising in response.

In addition, the festival featured “Monsieur Pug” at 11 in the morning, an animated short that offers a unique perspective through the eyes of a philosophical pug. “Social Me” followed it, presenting a Canadian narrative on the complexities of digital identity versus genuine human connection.
