Call to provide books to students

Government Teachers Association-Ayeni on Wednesday called on the authorities to ensure providing books to the students of government schools, grant promotion to JVTs and Muslim-e-Quran under fifty percent promotion quota reserved for those cadre posts, regularise the services of teachers appointed under NCHD and BEEF, review the time scale structure of SSTs and junior teachers and conduct inquiry into the corruption being committed in Balochistan by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Department, Quetta.

These and similar other demands were by speakers while addressing a protest demonstration held under the auspices of Government Teachers Association-Ayeni outside Quetta Press Club. Speakers said that Government Teachers Association-Ayeni had submitted 21 points charter of demands before the authorities for consideration, adding that GTAA would not withdraw from it genuine and legitimate demands.

They said promotion in Schools Education Department Balochistan was very slow, depriving thereby those teachers from their promotion to the next scale who had completed their length of service prescribed in the service rules for next promotion.

The protest demonstration was addressed President, Government Teachers Association-Ayeni, Haji Mujeebullah Gharsheen and others. Chanting slogans in support of their demands, protesters dispersed peacefully.
