The head of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal, Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, has announced that the protest sit-in at Lakpass will continue until the participants of the long march are allowed to proceed to Quetta.

Speaking to the media at the sit-in in Lakpass, which was organized in protest against the detention of Baloch Solidarity Committee leaders including Dr. Mehrang Baloch, Beeburg Baloch, and Beebo Baloch, Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal stated that the sit-in will persist due to the obstacles faced by the long march. He also announced plans to stage sit-ins on major highways of the province against the government’s stubbornness.

BNP-Mengal workers staged protests in various areas of Quetta, blocking Sariab Road, Western Bypass, and Kambirani Road. The Quetta-Karachi highway was also blocked in Hub, Kalat, Wadh, Khuzdar, and Mastung Bypass, causing difficulties for travelers.

The Quetta-Iran highway has also been blocked near Sultan Charai in demand for the release of the detained leaders of the Baloch Solidarity Committee. Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal warned that if any BNP-M worker is harmed, state institutions and the provincial government will be held responsible.
