Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the Sindh government’s new Benazir Hari Card project is expected to increase provincial wheat production to a level that could eliminate Pakistan’s need for foreign wheat imports, saving valuable foreign exchange and stabilizing the national economy.

Memon on Monday described the program as a “transparent, organized, and modern system” designed for the welfare of the province’s agricultural community. He stated that the card facilitates the direct supply of essential items, such as urea and DAP fertilizer, to growers.

Memon explained that furthermore, the initiative includes a significant safety net for growers. In the event of natural disasters or severe crop damage, affected farmers are provided financial assistance through the card system.

He emphasized that small farmers are the primary beneficiaries of this scheme, ensuring that government aid reaches them directly and transparently.

Memon stressed that this effort by the provincial administration extends beyond the prosperity of local farmers, holding potential benefits for the entire country.

Looking to the future, he expressed confidence that with continued government support and the integration of modern technology, Sindh’s farmers will achieve progressively higher yields in the coming years, positively impacting both the province and Pakistan as a whole.
