Balochistan CM orders preservation of rare birds

QUETTA:Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, has taken action for preservation of bustard, other rare birds and animals, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Thursday.

Directing the authorities of Forests and Wildlife Department, Balochistan and all deputy commissioners of the province to ensure the implementation of UN charter and Balochistan Wildlife Protection Act, he said no national and foreigner be allowed to hunt bustard and other rare birds and animals in Balochistan.

He said in case report regarding hunting of birds and animals was received from any of the districts of Balochistan, strict action against the concerned Deputy Commissioner and the concerned authorities of Forest and Wildlife Department, Balochistan would be initiated. Urging people to play their due role for preserving wildlife, he said that preservation of wildlife was a national responsibility. He directed the concerned authorities to launch crackdown against those who had kept rare birds in their homes and shops.
