Another eight PIA flights cancelled from Karachi Airport

KARACHI: Another eight flights of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were cancelled on Thursday due to apparent mismanagement and shortage of fuel.

The travellers faced difficulties on daily basis as on Wednesday a number of flights were also cancelled. The flights which were shelved on Thursday were Karachi-Turbat flights PK-501 and PK-502, Karachi-Lahore flights PK-302 and PK-303, Karachi-Quetta flights PK-310 and PK-311 and Karachi-Islamabad flights PK-368 and PK-369.

An eight-hour delay is feared in PIA flight PK-247 from Lahore to Damam. Karachi-to-Dubai flight PK208 is facing a delay of seven hours whereas Lahore-to-Riyadh flight PK-725 is expected to take off nine hours and 25 minutes behind its scheduled time.

PIA flight PK-742 coming from Jeddah to Islamabad will land one and a half hour late. PIA flight PK-748 coming to Lahore from Madinah faced a delay of six hours.

Carrying Umrah pilgrims, the Boeing-777 flight which was due to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport at 6am took off from Madinah at 7am Pakistani time.
