Al Battar-II Exercise Bolsters Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Counter-Terrorism Alliance

Elite special forces from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have concluded a demanding joint military drill focused on urban counter-terrorism operations, signaling a deepened commitment to tackling modern security threats together. The successful completion of the exercise underscores the strategic partnership between the two nations in enhancing regional stability.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that the joint maneuvers, named Al Battar-II, officially wrapped up in Tabuk, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on November 26. The intensive training program spanned eight days, commencing on November 18, and involved combat teams from the Pakistan Army’s acclaimed Special Services Group (SSG) alongside their Saudi counterparts.

During the extensive training, military personnel from both countries displayed exceptional levels of professionalism and operational readiness. The drill was designed to improve joint proficiency in several critical areas, including sophisticated urban combat, the neutralization of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and the refinement of integrated tactical procedures.

The closing ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the General Officer Commanding of the SSG, who was the chief guest from Pakistan, and senior military leaders from the Saudi armed forces.

This collaborative effort has significantly enhanced the historic military-to-military relationship between Islamabad and Riyadh. The Al Battar-II exercise is seen as a vital step in reinforcing their mutual dedication to regional peace, security, and a strengthened collaborative defence posture.
