The hospital’s Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, in conjunction with the Pharmacy Department, sparked dialogue and action around the critical significance of immunisation.

Observed globally from April 24 to 30, World Immunisation Week serves as a reminder of the life-preserving impact of vaccines and their essential role in shielding people from preventable diseases. This year’s theme, “Immunisation for All is Humanly Possible,” emphasizes the need for a concerted effort from healthcare professionals, patients, and the wider community to ensure vaccine access for everyone.

AKUH’s initial ceremony, led by Dr. Fyezah Jehan and Dr. Ali Faisal Saleem, featured a symbolic cake cutting and a powerful call to action for steadfast commitment to child health and vaccine advocacy.
