Adviser stresses on enhancing Pakistan- Uzbekistan bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD:Adviser to Prime Minister for Political and Public Affairs, National Heritage and Culture Engr Amir Muqam on Saturday stressed on enhancing bilateral cultural relations and economic ties in all sectors between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

He stated this during his visit to Bakhshi International Festival along with the Pakistan delegation in the city of Gulistan, Uzbekistan, according to a press release received here on Saturday from Tashkent

Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan are interlinked in culture, history and beautiful cultural heritage.

He took keen interest in the artwork displayed at the festival. Earlier, he was cordially welcomed by Minister of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan Nazarbekov Ozodbek Akhmadovich.

He said Pakistan considers Uzbekistan a key partner in Central Asian Regions, adding that with central location, vibrant population right mix of policies, Uzbekistan is the hub of Central Asia.

Engr Amir Muqam said that both countries are reviving their old bonds by enhancing connectivity through initiatives like trans-Afghan Railway project.

He said both countries are having frequent high-level interactions including the visit of President of Uzbekistan to Pakistan in March 2022 and visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to Samarkand for the SCO Summit.
