Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, has instructed the Multan district administration to take immediate and stringent measures to combat the hazardous smog enveloping the region, expressing significant concern over the public health threat.
The directive was issued during a meeting where Commissioner Multan, Aamir Karim Khan, provided a detailed briefing on administrative matters, public welfare initiatives, and ongoing development projects within the Multan Division, according to an information today.
Addressing the increasing number of dengue cases, the Acting President also mandated improvements to hospital facilities, the enhancement of preventive strategies, and the assurance of prompt medical care for patients. He stressed that all relevant departments must play an active role in curbing air pollution.
The discussion also covered the construction at the Musa Pak Shrine, with Mr. Gilani directing the Commissioner to expedite the completion of the pending work at the historically and spiritually significant site.
Furthermore, the Acting President commended the district administration and Commissioner Khan for their effective performance and efficient strategy during recent floods, highlighting the timely relief and rehabilitation of affected people.
Commissioner Khan, in turn, acknowledged the tireless efforts and continuous engagement of Member National Assembly Syed Ali Qasim Gilani during the flood situation. MNA Gilani was also present at the meeting.
