KARACHI: Sindh government spokesperson, CM Advisor on Law and Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Tuesday said that the Election Commission’s decision has proved that the accounts submitted by Imran Khan were wrong and all those details are collected by his signature.
“The verdict said that PTI chairman submitted false information from 2009 to 2013. According to the court decision, Imran Khan is no longer Sadiq and Amin, and now the institutions should take action against him,” the Administrator expressed these views while holding a press conference in the auditorium of Sindh Assembly Building.
He said that every political party will submit its accounts to the Election Commission and the party chief submits all those details. The Election Commission also gave this decision that the accounts submitted by Imran Khan as the head are wrong and all those details have been submitted under his signature. The Administrator said that in the judgment it was written that Chairman PTI submitted wrong information from 2009 to 2013.
“Today, the Election Commission has announced its decision along with the documents. According to the decision, Imran Khan is no longer Sadiq Amin. In para 50 of the order, the ECP has clearly stated that PTI has received prohibited funds from foreign companies and individuals including persons of Indian origin. It also states that the documents submitted by Imran Khan were completely false. Rules should not be made based on personalities,” Barrister added.
He further said that we are hopeful that Justice Umar Atta Bandial will take a decision according to his previous decision. “It cannot be that there are separate laws for different personalities. For so long, a campaign was being conducted against the Election Commission. Despite the success in Punjab, Imran Khan was saying that the Election Commissioner should be sent home,” he said. The Administrator said that the PTI knew that their wrongdoings would have consequences.
“Imran Khan has been convicted of a crime, the federal government will take this decision to the court to declare PTI illegal. In Nawaz Sharif’s case, the Supreme Court disqualified him for not declaring a salary, while wrong information was submitted to the Election Commission for five years by the PTI,” Barrister Murtaza Wahab added.
He said that the law banning this funding has also been debated in the Supreme Court. He said that the Election Commission has decided that prohibited funding was taken in violation of rules and wrong information was submitted.
He further said that Yusuf Raza Gilani was disqualified for not writing a letter. The court disqualified Nawaz Sharif for not receiving the salary of Iqama. “Now there is a chance for a hat trick. The third case has also come. Decisions have to be made in the light of their own previous decisions,” he added.
