ISLAMABAD: The 39th death anniversary of revolutionary and legendary Urdu poet and writer Faiz Ahmad Faiz was observed on Monday.
Born on February 13, 1911, at Kala Qader in Narowal district of Punjab, Faiz earned wide recognition for his work that influenced Urdu literature all over the world.
Faiz Ahmad Faiz was awarded the Lenin peace award by the Soviet Union in 1962 in recognition of his services. He died this day (November 20) in 1984 and is buried in Lahore.
