Young doctors may march on Islamabad

QUETTA: Young Doctors Association (YDA) is deliberating upon the proposal to march on Islamabad after taking on board all the chapters of YDA across the country, said Doctor Kaleemullah Kakar, Spokesperson for YDA in a statement issued here on Friday.

He said that healthcare facilities across the province lack basic facilities, adding that neither there are medicines nor are essential instruments available in operation theatres of government run healthcare facilities of the province. The procurement of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has not yet been ensured despite lapse of considerable period of time, he regretted.

Kakar added that doctors under the banner of Young Doctors Association (YDA) have been on strike for the last 30 days, but Chief Minister Balochistan has turned a deaf ear to the genuine demands of YDA. He said that doctors have proved that they will render any kind of sacrifices for the rights of the people and community after remaining behind the bar for 30 days.

He said that doctors believe in resolving all the issues through parleys as more than 30 sessions had already been held with the negotiating committee constituted by Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo. He said that doctors from across the province, Paramedical Staff Federation and Young Nursing Association would move towards Red zone area on January 12, 2022 to besiege Chief Minister’s House in order to get the demands of YDA addressed.
