Sindh to host Investment Conference on sidelines of Dubai Expo

KARACHI: Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Investment and Public Private Partnership Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar Thursday chaired an important meeting to discuss the participation of Sindh government in Dubai Expo and organizing Sindh Investment Conference on December 14 at Dubai.

The meeting was held in the office of Sindh Investment Department here. On this occasion Secretary Investment Sindh Bilal Ahmed informed that under the title of Dubai Expo-2020, opportunities to explore connectivity, culture, tourism and investment are possible. He said that six months long Dubai Expo was started in October-2021 and will continue till March 2022. All provinces of Pakistan are participating in Dubai Expo, he added.

The Secretary Investment has informed that Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah is hosting Sindh Investment Conference in Dubai on December 14. Minister for Economy and Investment Dubai will be the chief guest in Sindh Investment Conference. It was informed in the meeting that the month of December 2021, is dedicated for Sindh province, so that we would highlight Investment opportunities of Sindh. It was informed that TDAP is also facilitating Sindh Government in Dubai Expo. The meeting was informed that two major sessions consisting on panel discussions besides signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also be held in Sindh Investment Conference. Participation of NED University of Engineering and Technology and some start-ups like Bikea will also be included.

Secretary Investment informed that guests from Dubai’s Royal family, Dubai and Abu Dhabi Chamber’s of Commerce and representatives from Pakistani business community specially Arif Habib, Mohsin Shaikhani, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar and other notables will also participate in this conference. It was also informed that different departmental heads of Sindh Government will give presentations regarding investment opportunities related to their departments. On this occasion Secretary Energy Sindh Abu Bakar Madni, CEO of Public Private Partnership Cell Khalid Mehmood, Managing Director KW and SB Asadullah Khan and Senior officers of Local Government, Culture and Tourism, Agriculture, Live stock and Fisheries departments besides representatives of FPCCI, KCCI and other stake holders were also attended the meeting.

Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Investment and Public Private Partnership Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar has said that more than 190 countries are participating in Dubai Expo and the month of December is dedicated for Sindh to highlight Investment opportunities in the event. He said that we have to work hard to highlight Sindh’s investment opportunities in this conference. CEO of Sindh Enterprise Development Fund Mehboob ul Haq and the CEO of Sindh Special Economic Zones Management Company SEZMC Abdul Azim Uqaili also gave their presentations in the meeting.
