KARACHI: To mark the 70th anniversary of Pakistan-Germany diplomatic relations, the Government of Pakistan has decided to issue a commemorative coin of even denomination, i.e. Rs70.
According to SBP information on Thursday, this coin will be available on exchange counters of SBP Banking Services Corporation from October 15, 2021. It may be recalled here that the diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and Germany were established on October 15, 1951.
The coin has a diameter of 30.00 mm and weigh 13 grams with milled serrations on the edge. The metal composition of the coin is Cupro-Nickel (Copper 75% and Nickel 25%). Details of design are as under:
OBVERSE:
In the Centre on the observe of the coin there is the image of “MINAR-E-PAKISTAN” with a background of waxing crescent moon and five pointed star facing North West in rising position. Along with periphery on the top of the crescent star is inscribed in the wording “ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN”. Below the image and on the bottom of two springs of wheat with arms curved upward, there is the year of issuance 2021. The face value of the coin in numeral “70” in words “RS” are written on the right and left sides of the image and crescent and star respectively.
REVERSE:
On the reverse side of the coin, there is the image of “BRANDENBURG GATE”, an 18th-century monument in Berlin, Germany, shown in the center. The wording “70th ANNIVERSARY OF PAKISTAN-GERMANY DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS” is written all along the periphery. The years “1951 TO 2021” are depicted at the bottom of the portrait indicating the span of seventy years of diplomatic relations.
