KARACHI:Participants of the solidarity mood have appealed peace loving masses of the world to mobilize moral pressure on their respective governments to respect the right of self-determination of Palestinian Arabs for the establishment of sovereign State in the historic boundaries of Palestine.
Declaration adopted in the meeting arranged by the Society for Human Salvation held at Karachi Press Club to celebrate the National Day of Palestine has urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions regarding Palestine State without further delay. Eminent economist Shahida Wazarat, Ambassador Hasan Habib, Social activist Mahfooz un Nabi Khan, prominent Trade Unionist Manzoor Razi, Sathi Ishaq, Masood Alam, Muhammad Waseem, Syed Naseem Shah, Abdul Basit, Anwar Abbas and others spoke on the occasion.
In her presidential address, Shahida Wazarat said that the holocaust occurred in Europe and there is no justification to compensate use of holocaust in the Palestine Arab land. She said that time has reached when Palestinian Arabs should think to use proper weapons in place of stones and rocks to combat occupying Israeli forces.
She observed that Neo-Colonialism is becoming order of the day through the international loan giving agencies which has threatened the sovereignty of States in the third world. Citing the situation in Indian illegally occupied Kashmir, she suggested Pakistan to face the situation in close association of China. Ambassador Hasan Habib foresees that fourth Intifada is in offing in the territory of Palestine.
Referring to the provisions of international law, Ambassador has asked the countries to refuse the import of goods produced by the rulers of occupied territory. He stressed the need of mobilizing active public opinion in the Arab world in order to resist the growing trend of recognizing Israel by Arab governments. He also emphasized on the extensive propagation of the just cause of Palestine in the West.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahfooz un Nabi Khan has advocated the case of sovereign Palestine State with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital and removal of Jewish settlements in occupied territory. He also urged Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to play its practical role in the solution of Palestine question instead of adopting mere resolution after resolution. The world in general and the Muslim countries in particular should also take a serious note of the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir and the Muslim minority in India. Earlier, Usman Jamai’s poem to pay tribute to the innocent people of Palestine was also recited.
