Pakistan reports 29 deaths due to covid, 6,047 new cases

KARACHI: Pakistan on Wednesday reported 29 deaths due to covid and 6,047 new cases while the number of positive cases has surged to 1,436,413 and the countrywide death toll from the disease has jumped to 29,330 so far.

According to National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), so far, 13,185 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,840 in Sindh 6,009 in KP, 982 in Islamabad, 758 in Azad Kashmir, 368 in Balochistan, and 188 in GB. Furthermore 544,722 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 482,316 in Punjab 196,328 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 129,004 in Islamabad, 38,805 in Azad Kashmir 34,501 in Balochistan and 10,737 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 25,134,775 coronavirus tests and 61,190 in the last 24 hours. 1,304,980 patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,559 patients are in critical condition. The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 9.88 percent.

So far, 104,228,089 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 223,230 in last 24 hours. 80,748,105 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 322,467 received their second dose in last 24 hours.
