Navy, PMSA foil bid to smuggle liquor

QUETTA: In a joint intelligence based operation by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Pakistan Custom Intelligence, smuggling of illegal high quality liquor was averted, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.

During the operation, 05 smugglers were apprehended and a huge quantity of liquor was recovered. The value of Liquor in International market is estimated to be Rs. 216 million. The seized liquor along with smugglers have been handed over to Pakistan Custom Intelligence for further investigation and legal proceedings including investigation of involvement of any of the apprehended individual in other anti-state activities and completion of legal formalities.

Successful operation by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Pakistan Custom Intelligence resulting in seizure of illegal high-quality liquor is a testament to the fact that we are vigilant and remains committed in preventing use of Pakistani waters for any unlawful act/ purposes. Pakistan Maritime Security Agency will continue to shoulder its national obligations and responsibility to establish lawful order at sea.
