KARACHI: On the launch of Green Line bus service, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail traveled from Numaish Chowrangi to Hyderi in a Green Line bus in the metropolis on Saturday.
A large number of media and people were present on the occasion. The Sindh governor carefully reviewed the facilities available at the Numaish Chowrangi bus station and expressed satisfaction. He also talked to the passengers there and get information about the transportation facilities.
Passengers at the Green Line bus station were happy to see the governor among them and also took pictures with him. The governor personally bought a ticket for the Green Line bus and boarded the bus, during which he also inspected the travel facilities available in the bus.
Talking to media while traveling in Green Line bus, Ismail said: “Today is a very special day as today is Christmas, Quaid’s birthday and completion day of the Green Line project.” He said that he was trying to come up with a plan which would benefit the people.
He hoped that other lines would be started soon so that mass transit system could be started in Karachi. Replying to a question, the governor said that not a single bus service had been provided to the people of Karachi since 14 years. However, now people are very happy with the launch of Green Line bus service today and are offering prayers, says Ismail. The governor further said that ‘he prays that Sindh government completes the remaining projects as soon as possible so that other people can also benefit from this facility’.
