PPP all set to observe Benazir’s death anniversary

Karachi: Pakistan People’s Party has finalized arrangements to observe the death anniversary of its assassinated leader Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto, party sources told PPI on Friday.

As per programme the public gathering (jalsa) of the anniversary will be held at Garhi khuda Bux Bhutto on 27th December at 1:00 pm. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party will address the gathering at Garhi khud bux Bhutto in which he is also expected to make important announcement about future strategy.

On the occasion of 14th death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, workers of people’s party are busy in decorating main chowks of Larkana city and Naundero with party flags and banners and establishing welcome camps in different areas of the city to host the leaders and workers who will arrive from all four provinces.

Camps of four provinces of people’s party are also being set up at jalsa gah so that workers from four provinces can gathered at their camps.

Sindh government and police high ups have made special security arrangements to ensure law and order and smooth flow of traffic on all the important roads.

Over 7,000 police personnel including SSU commandos, women police and traffic personnel will perform duties on the occasion of death anniversary commemoration mega event and public gathering.

The bomb disposal squad, detectors, scanning machines and walk through gates will be set up at the main entrance gates of Ghari khud bux Bhutto for the security purpose and Public meeting will be monitored by CCTV cameras .

President PPP Sindh Nisar Khuhro has said that lacs people from all over Pakistan will attend death anniversary public gathering at Ghari Khuda bux Bhutto to pay their tribute to the great leader in recognition of her life long struggle for the cause of people and democracy and protection of rights of the people of Pakistan.

Khuhro said it was a Benazir Bhutto who stood against all odds and fought with dictators for the restoration of democracy and her services would always be remembered.

Khuhro said PTI led Government for allegedly conspiring to roll back the 18th amendment and continuously trying to curtain provincial autonomy and depriving province in the share of NFC, water, gas and electricity.

PTI government has handed over the country to IMF and on the dictation of IMF the federal government is making preparation for mini budget after mini budget inflation will go on peak and common man will suffer more.

He said if PTI federal government has no any vision for the betterment of people then they should quit government.

He said Sindh is facing shortage of water and IRSA is not implementing 1991 water accord but Punjab and federal government insisting on the construction of controversial greater Thal canal phase 2 and Chaubara canal projects for the irrigation of two million acers of barren land in punjab but these projects are not acceptable to Sindh at any cost.

Already due to shortage of water 3 millions acres land barren in Thatta and Badin if these projects started amid the water scarcity, Sindh will become barren he added.

PPP leader said these projects had not been approved by the Council of Common Interests (CCI) as well the CDWP and ECNEC therefore these projects should be scrapped.
