Bill’s 2nd passage not need governor’s approval: Khuhro

LARKANA:President, PPP Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, has said that Sindh’s decisions will be made by the people and elected representatives of Sindh, hence threats of action should not be given.

He was addressing a meeting of party leaders and activists of Sukkur and Larkana Divisions at Garhi Khuda Bux on Tuesday evening which was held in connection with commemoration of 14th anniversary of slaim PPP Chairperson Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Khuhro said time had gone when governments were overthrown during the darkness adding people would not accept and tolerate any unconstitutional step.

He said MQM and PSP are not the representatives of all Urdu speaking people hence politics of linguistics will not work now. He said those who betrayed the rights of Sindh including census should stop threatening and showing eyes. The people of Sindh and the elected representatives of Sindh will not count on such threats by Altaf Hussain’s followers, he added. Khuhro said that the MQM had betrayed Sindh for the ministry by manipulating Sindh’s population.

He said that after the passage of Local Bodies Bill for the second time by the Sindh Assembly, there was no need for governor’s approval on the bill and Local Bodies bill has now become a law. He said that the PTI, who criticized the Sindh government for passing the Local Bodies bill without the consultation of the political parties, has blackened the face of democracy by imposing local bodies Ordinance in Punjab.

Khuhro said Sindh has empowered local bodies’ elected representatives in education, health, law and order, water supply and other fields and also authorized local councils to collect property tax. Khuhro said that PTI has no vision to run the country and inflation has ruined the lives of the masses. It was decided in the meeting that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari will address the public meeting on 27th December and Bilawal is expected to announce future line of action in his address.
