LARKANA:Two policemen embraced martyrdom in a shootout in a village of Larkana, police said Tuesday.

On a tip-off, police launched an operation in a local village, lawmen said, adding that the criminals started firing shots at the police as soon as they got to know about the operation. Assistant Sub-Inspector Muzaffar Khoso and Police Constable Nawab Ali Jatoi embraced martyrdom, SSP Imran Qureshi said, adding that suspect Raju Mehr was killed and another injured when the lawmen responded. Heavy contingent of police backed the raiding team. Panic gripped the areas after the deadly shootout.

In Karachi’ s Hamdard University area, police failed a robbery attempt and arrested two suspects involved in robbing citizens. Police sprang into action in response to a call for help. Looted mobile phones, cash and documents was recovered from the arrested. A woman sustained serious injuries during a firing incident in Supper market Machli Bazaar. The injured was shifted to hospital.
