He said that he had meetings with the vice chancellor, security staff, girl students and others adding fingerprints, video, photos and other evidence have also been received which will help in investigation.

He said it will be known whether it was a suicide or murder. He said that after receipt of the postmortem report facts will come out. He said in this age children are faced with education, financial and other problems. He said a letter found from the room has also been sent to the laboratory for forensic analysis. In reply to a question, DIGP replied “we have not sealed the hostel”.

On the other hand, Students Action Committee of the Chandka Medical College (CMC), different political and social welfare organizations held separate protest demonstrations demanding justice for Dr. Nausheen. Students including Imran Mari, Imran Buriro, Awais Dahani, Siraj Junejo, Aftab Chandio and others demanded removal of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Vice Chancellor (VC), CMC Principal and girls hostel provost and to include them in the investigation.

They alleged that Dr. Nausheen had been killed. They claimed the blood was oozing out of the nose and mouth of Dr Nausheen and her both feet were on the table. They said this is the third incident which has taken place in the hostel with the same conditions of rope, fan and table. They said that if these incidents are of suicide, then why the university authorities have not probed the causes of such suicides so far and why the investigations have not yet been made public. They said CMC and hostels have been suddenly closed at midnight through a circular issued by the registrar but we will not allow such things to happen.

Meanwhile, General Secretary, JUI-Fazal, Sindh, Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro, has demanded a high-level inquiry into the Dr. Nausheen case to ascertain whether it was a suicide or a murder. He said the media was kept away for three hours which is not a proper act. He said it must also be investigated why CMC has become the land of such incidents. He further demanded that it must also be probed why such incidents are taking place with girl students who are our future assents. He warned that if authorities tried to hide the facts it would be resisted.
