ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has assured to extend full cooperation to any media organization pursuing the path of digital transformation.

He was talking to a delegation of Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) here on Thursday. The Information Minister said loan facility of up to one million rupees will be provided for the digitalization of newspapers. He said his ministry will also extend cooperation in digitalization of newspapers.

He said a process has been started to make Press Information Department (PID) paperless. At present, the whole system of advertisements has been made paperless and stands digitalized. Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said the PTI government stands behind the working journalists and has enacted Protection of Journalists and Media Professionals Act for their protection.

In his remarks on the occasion, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said the new digital media policy will promote transparency. The CPNE delegation welcomed the government’s digital media policy.
